Dear Blog: Classes and textbooks and jobs! Oh my!
Well, today I packed my 50-pound bag of textbooks and tried to get a decent solution to my laptop carrying case problem (wonderful macbook is too small to fit in my old Toshiba bag) before "opening day." Opening day was, ehh, acceptible. Nothing tremendously special. My day consisted of sign-in, lunch, fancy little "college starts, parents go away" ceremony, dinner, and some introductory class type things. I kinda feel a bit "left out", I guess, as a commuter, even though about half of the students at Walsh commute. It would be fun to share a room with someone for a change (assuming they didn't play rock music all the time...) but I guess I'm probably a lot better off financially and morally as a commuter. No stupid drunk people parties every weekend.
Oh, another thing that happened recently, though everyone who reads this probably already knows anyway, is that I got the "technology assistant" position at the library. It's a nice career-related job with great pay, but it'll be 30 hours a week. So I'll like the job, I just won't have any free time at all. At least for this semester. But it'll be worth it in the long run, hopefully.
Classes start on Monday, and I have more orientation stuff tomorrow. None of it is really making me nervous or excited or anything... maybe just because everything is flying by too quickly to pay attention to.
Ok, time for sleep.
